Glass Room vs Conservatories

A conservatory and a glass room seem like fundamentally the same thing. Both are made predominantly of glass, both let you enjoy your garden more and both can be a pleasant place to relax or entertain within your home. If you aren’t sure which one you should choose for your home, here is a brief summary.

A glass room is a more seamless option. It will sit on the side of the house with minimal lines and very few interruptions, giving you beautiful views over your garden and the outdoors. It won’t usually require planning permission to build.

A conservatory is a more solid structure. Made primarily out of brick, it incorporates a lot of glass but is still essentially a part of the building. It will usually use the same kind of stone or brick in order to fit in with the building. It will make use of skylights to bring light in from above.
